Wear your camp t-shirt and comfortable, closed-toe shoes.

Wear a swim-suit under your clothes – we will swim and canoe every day!

Bring a backpack with 1) a non-perishable sack lunch 2) towel 3) sun-block and bug spray and 4) reusable water bottle that you don’t mind us putting masking tape on for their name

Each day in ROME will begin and end with EXTOLLO! (“Praise” = song + prayer). In the morning, we’ll participate in active games, visit Paul who is under house arrest and/or his underground church, and visit the marketplace – where we will learn an artisan craft and experience foods from the early church.

Then after lunch we will enjoy hiking, swimming, canoeing, and visit the amphitheater, where we’ll learn more about life in Rome for the earliest Christians.

Youth in 6th grade and up are invited to participate as Junior House Leaders. This is a great opportunity to experience leadership with adult supervision and receive recommendations after positive participation.

Attendance at once of 3 training workshops offered between June 4-14 is required. There is no registration fee for junior leaders, but the paperwork is a must!

NEW THIS YEAR: After the family picnic is over and the campers have returned home, junior leaders are invited to participate in an overnight retreat at Walcamp. We’ll do paintball – (probably), campfire dinner, night hike, and stay in the treehouses. We’ll wrap up early Saturday morning. Please indicate your intention to participate on your registration form – thanks!

Camp will continue at Walcamp under cover of the pavilion in light or brief rain. In the event of heavy rain or any anticipated weather emergency, we will stay at First Lutheran Church and host a rain-day camp on site.

On Friday, children will have camp activities until noon. We invite families and friends to join us at Walcamp at that time so we can all celebrate together with a picnic. We ask you to mark your calendars to be available for that to the extent possible, and indicate your intention to participate on the registration form. We will be excited to see you and show you in song and other ways the things we have learned in Rome!
