Each school day, approximately 3600 DeKalb children eat a free or reduced-price lunch. Have you ever wondered what happens when their stomachs growl during the summer?
Our neighbors at First United Methodist Church have an important ministry to fill those hungry tummies with nutritious food! Tuesday-Friday, from June 5 to August 3, volunteers will gather to serve a hot lunch to families who otherwise may not be able to provide their children a midday meal.
This year we First Lutherans are invited to team up with the Methodists every day the program is in operation, not just on "Lutheran Thursdays." There are even opportunities to serve our community in the evenings of June 18, July 16, and August 3 when the mobile food pantry visits the parking lot at Fourth and Oak. Please consider joining the fun this summer!
Paper and pencil sign up is available in the atrium now, or sign up online at this link.
